The unit is was used for two summers only.

    Thanks guys and girls.

  3. Lens?

Thank u for starting this fine work. I just want to add a small factor. Angels ant most important the type of lens. We been reading about F stop and ISO and shutter speed. Today's cameras have a wide range of processing info. Light, speed and so on. To me the lens and the angel is where the money is at. The info here is great an u guys for sure k ow what u are talking about. Macros is something that I have done and loved for years.

So let's talk Macro lens.... U don't need to have a Macro lens to get a close up shot, but having one is like day and night. What type of lens do u need and which one? For me there only two choices. 1. Sigma 70mm macro. It has a F stop of 2.8 and one of the most clear glass lens u can get for the money. I would say it's right up there with the Canon L type lens. The price on this lens is around $500 new.

    2. My 2nd choice is the Tamron 60mm 2.0 F I love this len. It's fast and sharp. Not as sharp as my number one pick Sigma 70mm.

This lens is fast and it's well built. Had a nice body and a very fast a d quite motor. Note: most of the time u use a macro for taking picture of your tank u will be doing Manuel focus. So motor speed is not a huge factor for this but nice to have for portraits.

Final note on Macro Lens: the angel that u choose to take your picture will have lots to do with the end product.

Thanks guys and keep up the great work.

  6. I AM USING ONE OF THOSE RIGHT NOW

I picked up the PSK 75H from Upscales about 1 1/2 now. For the price i like them but its a pain to get then started. So far I am happy with it. No the best but it pulls some dark stuff out of my 24G I have. For the price its a nice skimmer. I will take some pictures of it working tonight for you.

    Rose city has then cheap.

    Hey all,

I'm looking for a new protein skimmer for my 40 gallon tank price range under $200 but preferably under $150. I came across these protein skimmers on foster and smith and had never heard of them but the price is right and the video makes it look like they have good foam production, heres a link:

What I want to know is has anyone had experience with them and are they good or are they crap! I know from experience that some cheaper skimmers work exceptionally well and some aren't even worth running at all. If anyone has any personal or anectdotal experience that would be great. OR if you know of a better option in that price range in sump or hang on I really dont care as long as its a good skimmer.

Also If anyone has something used laying around that would work for my setup feel free to pm me. Im really open to anything I just want a skimmer that works well.

    Thanks,

    Kyle
