  1. What does this starfish look like? Do you have a picture of him?

Do you dose iodine into your system regularly?

  2. I've got a frag of my pink zoas. I've named them Pinky Tuscadero Zoas due to the strong resemblance to the Happy Days character. You be the judge:

I'm looking to trade for some kind of Zoa. A "Fonzie" would be great.

(laugh) I can see the resemblance now.

  3. Well, isn't THAT interesting! I recognize dsoz's coral and I have it on good authority that Satan (flame), (the forked one) traded dsoz this same coral for a dozen flatworms and a 3 red bugs to his stepfather.

As an incentive to purchase one of my corals I want you to know that there is often one coral that I will sell with the label.

    ZOAS FOR ZOARASTER!

All, or a portion of the proceeds, will go towards lunch at Hooters

(laugh) I liked this one in particular. :)

  4. I think they grew expediently this year. Pretty proud of them as a team. The only way they could let me down is if they don't leave it all on the court tonight. I wanna see them foaming at the mouth biting scratching and clawing the whole way. If they go down they better go down fighting.

I agree with you whole heatedly Sir.

    GO BLAZERS!(clap)

  5. I've never seen any real fungus attacking corals in my experience my dad may know of something.

There are definitely different bacterias that can attack and kill SPS though.

  6. I know the guy that traded your dad for them same guy I got mine from give me a break sheesh at least I was saying they came from Tubs lol anyways say what you want.

I think you and the "guy" have too much spare time to come up with such a ridiculous accusation.

    That's what's humorous.(laugh)

  7. Yep you traded a guy in Medford for them lol and they were Tubs then too:D

No we actually bought them from a vendor in LA that brings in wild corals. Quit looking for a argument, and spreading false information.

  8. my Oregon tort grows faster then my PPE or for that matter my OPE but alot of others definatly grow faster then my tort and honestly unless your growing said paly's how can you honestly say I'm wronge.

I'll leave it at this, we have raised the "Purple People Eaters" for about 6-7 years now among other various zoas and palythoas in our collection. They grow much faster than a oregon tort in my opinion. Maybe you aren't able to grow them as well as we do, I'm not sure. Everyone has different techniques. Some work better than others.

Jody I totally respect you and support you and plan on buying from you soon' date=' but think you should just drop out of this thread, Soutas I aswell respect you, I and appreciate what you have done for this hobby. Ocean in a box, I don't know anything about you, but disagree with some of your practices. Al said I think you should all end this![/quote']

This guy is a voice of reason, and I seriously respect this. As such I'm going to go out and enjoy the rest of this day instead of sitting here and arguing.

I will voice my opinion later on if I feel it is really needed.

  9. Once again they've always been 1inch to 1inch and a half.

Since I have never meet you and have only purchased frags from your father I will just say that has not always been the case 1/4-1/2 frags were very much the norm in your shop.

So please lay off the "they have always been"..... Just not true.

If you are selling 1-1/2 oregon tort frags now for cheap

    Cheers to you!!

I'm not sure why you intend on beating a old drum. They've all been 1inch to 1inch and a half frags since we've been selling them. I've been in the shop since I was a kid and I have a pretty good idea of what all of our frag sizes are since I've been helping out there for years.

If you wish to keep posting false information go ahead, I wish to defend myself against such false information as I have the right to.

  10. Lol, thanks Beckie. I'm glad you liked them so much. :)

I think the only reason why they got so popular all of a sudden was because some guy named "Tubs" or whatever put his name on them this year even though we've been growing them for 6-7 years now. Go figure.

  11. You obviously dont know how ebay works. First of all it works to both ends of the spectrum. I can have "X" item on my website for a $100. Turn right around and sell a colony on ebay one week for $65 and the next week for $200 all along the piece was available on the website for $100' date=' not failed logic.....just the facts!!!![/quote']

    65+200=265 Divide it by 2= $132.50

I guess I was wrong, you make even more money by putting it on ebay. No wonder you like doing it.

there your wronge I have numerous rare paly's that grow slow including PPE' date=' Orange PE, Pink Elephants, ext ext.[/quote']

But, centimeter for centimeter I doubt that any zoanthid or palythoa out there grows slower than a Oregon Tort. You don't even have the ability to feed a oregon tort larger meaty foods as well. That is a HUGE ADVANTAGE to growing something.

Nope not looking to argue I have sold frags myself for over $170.00 and will continue to sell them.

However, I have been in your shop and spent good $$ on frags.

    I can recall $75 for a 1/2 inch frag.

Again I don't see the difference.

Once again they've always been 1inch to 1inch and a half.

    Ricky Soutas Jr.

  12. I recall $100 1/4" frags of the oregon blue tort in your shop not that many years ago how is this different?

They were actually much bigger than that. They always have been 1inch to 1.5 inches in size. It was only for about a year as well. We currently sale them for $38.00 a frag at the same size as above.

The difference quite honestly was that there wasn't that much out there, and it was a extremely slow grower. Plus we weren't in a such a messed up situation with the economy. It's a completely different situation.

Zoanthids and palythoas on the other hand grow extremely fast, and I'd say they should at least get more than a few polyps for that price not just one.

I hope you can understand that. Otherwise I'd say your just looking for a argument while presenting false facts.

  13. Mr. Reef' date=' I have to agree. In I believe the thread I posted I said in there that naming of zoa's is over rated and used for no other reason than profit.[/quote']

By the way this is VERY TRUE.

    Sorry for the double post.

    Ricky Soutas Jr.

    -Soutas Saltwater & Reef Inc.-

  14. Thats the reason when I sale on ebay I start most of my auctions for a penny. You see the pic of what im selling and you will decide whats it worth to you. Very seldom do I post a price tag on a piece unless I think it's a really nice piece and warrants a higher price.

    Umm, ok.

But, if the price on your site is $99.00 for "X zoa" and even higher on another site they're going to bid it all the way up to $99.00 anyways, or just barely under.

    Failed logic.DOH!

    Ricky Soutas Jr.

    -Soutas Saltwater & Reef Inc.-

  15. I think it's ridiculous that anyone should have to pay 30-100 dollars for a single polyp of zoanthids or palythoas. They grow quite fast, and I really think that is just taking advantage of people. (flame)

    Just my .02 cents.

  16. Thank you for the compliments, it was a pleasure talking with you and your wife yesterday as well. :)

I'm glad that you were happy with everything, I believe this is the only way it should be when coming to any store.

How are those corals doing, that Pink Fungia you picked up was amazing. Just about the the pinkest one we've ever received. In fact, when we originally saw it we almost couldn't believe it and thought that it would lighten up a little in color once put under our lighting. Not a single pigment out of place though!

I look forward to your next visit when you get the chance. You and your wife are exceptionally nice people, not to mention that you both have very good taste for corals in my opinion. ;)

  17. World of Wet Pets is a good close one. If ya don't mind driving I would recommend The Wet Spot in Portland. They have a great selection. When I had my freshwater tank up I would buy from them because of the selection they had. Good prices too.

Yeah, the Wet Spot IS AMAZING if you like freshwater fish. It's definitely worth the drive.
