eunice worm? - perhaps it's coming out at night.
-
I just throw them away. you're welcome to take them. It's usually like 11 pounds grain per 5 gal batch.
Oh man, the chickens are going to be laying some tasty, tasty eggs that week!

I just saw the clip of flashback of Richard in Locke's childhood where he places the items in front of Locke. That is very interesting considering he is the new "Chosen One". The "test" is similar to what I would imagine how the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama is determined. Anyway' date=' it was a click moment. Sorry if this has already been hashed out considering it was in a fourth season episode. DOH![/quote']
The compass was the same one in the Locke flashback as the one Richard gave him in the jungle. It belongs to Locke.

I don't know if you normally compost your used grains or what - but if you don't mind I'd gladly take those home to feed my chickens They love them!
-
Yup, from the pilot episode.

Man, I'm glad I have TiVo, with Lost starting again, a new season of 24, and my newest favorite, Burn Notice.
But I'm pissed that #$%@#*@ Comcast is switching to digital, so I'll have to get a bunch of cable boxes, which will screw up my TiVo....
Switching to digital? If you are referring to DTV that will only affect you if you get your TV over the air.

Ah, I thought you meant this weekend
I'll be in for almost any weekend, i live a lot closer to you now since i've moved out of Hillsboro.
-
If you do this Sunday, I should be able to make it over for the beginning part I'd like to hear about making my own extract! What can I bring that will help out/contribute to obtaining some of said extract
Also what are you planning on brewing? A hef? I could get behind that!
-
you're good.... throw on an airlock and bottle a few days after the bubbly stops. It will taste ohhh so good... The mirror pond clones always come out really good even if you messed up a little....good first choice.
That's what I like to hear!
I'm pretty confident I didn't screw anything up...yet. I did have about 2 cups of wort left over, but a buddy of mine said not to worry, he's had up to a gallon left over and things still were great.
Tonight's task, sanitize airlock, and put that baby on! (clap)(rock2)
And the best part - the chickens in my backyard absolutely LOVED the cooked grains when they cooled down
-
The yeast took about 15 hours to start working, but there's been a nice steady stream of CO2 from the blow off tube since Sunday(cooked on saturday). The foaming has died down, so the tube no longer has runners of Krauzen(or whatever) so I think i might swap to the airlock soon so I don't accidentally kick over the tub of water with the blow off tube in it and make a mess.
I'll be bottling this batch for sure, until I can get a cornie and tap setup in the beer fridge
I'm sureprised some enterprising reefer doesn't route the co2 from the fermenting vessle to a CA reactor
-
A blend, not all grain.
OK - so I should let it sit in the carboy for about 2 weeks, then bottle (or keg) and wait another 4+ weeks?
-
I've only got the goods for a single batch at a time, the MP was my first ever attempt It's killing me to see it fermenting away, and to know i'm still a good 4 weeks from being able to taste it.
Once I get more equipment I'll be able to contribute to the supply, but I'd like to come help out and learn some more tricks of the trade!
-
i just did a mirror pond clone last weekend, foaming up nicely now

This might be better suited for a freshwater forum...
BUT - Your plants die because you don't give them what they need. Light, CO2, nutrients. They die, and leave nutrients that feeds the algae. Vicious cycle.

2 x Hydor Koralia 3 - $30 each - Pending
1 x Hydor Koralia 2 - $25 - Pending
They work very well, no issues at all. Come with the magnet as you would expect. You may want to scrape the coralline off, may not it's up to you.
Also a Tunze Osmolator (ATO) system. The metering pump is broken, but is under $25 to replace from marine depot (http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~action~view~idProduct~TZ4115~idCategory~FIDPETRA~category~Replacement_Parts-Electric_Powered-Dosing_Pumps___Top_Off-Saltwater_Aquarium_Supplies~vendor~.html)
Will sell the system for $100 firm. and i still have the old pump in case you might be able to fix it somehow.
No flakes please. If you say you want something, please follow through with it. I will ship, but that would be at actual cost to you.

i've got a 24gpd unit out at the condo in hillsboro, might be a while before i can get out there though based on traffic/weather and that I live on the east side now. I replaced all filters/membranes about 6 months ago.

Very, very nice.

Monday morning bump...still have all this stuff as people didn't get in touch with me over the weekend.

I am just getting started in the hobby and looking for some live rock.
How much do you have for sale at what price? How old is it/and what quality is it in?
Thanks!
I've got about 75lbs, been in the tank for 1.5 years - no pests, some has algae issues. LOTS of asterina stars, but no pest anemones of any sort. Some are encrusted in corals, so the rock & coral must go together at a higher cost. If you can be in Hillsboro Sunday around noon - We can each hand guess the weight - average it out and $3/lb.
Ill take the mud.If you can be in Hillsboro on Sunday around noon - it's yours.
If you can be there - PM me for the address/phone number. I need to do this Sunday because I am going to be there clearing out the remaining corals and rock to take to a LFS. I don't live at the condo anymore, so i'm only there once in a while to make sure the tank is ok before I clear it out completely. And sadly, Saturday is already commited to cleaning up the new place.

Thanks - much easier to see many people's items in there now.

Anyone in need of some surround sound? I've got a Kenwood VR6050 dolby digital 5.1 receiver. Also decodes DTS, and Pro Logic. Works perfectly, I just upgraded to something new otherwise I'd still use this. Comes with remote too.
$100 firm.
