  1. I livei n redmond and i think a store in either bend or here woulddo really well. There is absolutely no place to buy quality saltwater livestock or supplies in central oregon. only options are a small mom & pop store that probably has no business carrying saltwater judging by the fact that thier filtration consists of undergravel filters and canister filters, and then there is the good ol' petco and we all know about those. I think there are alot of people here with reef tanks and you would get all thier business if you can just get the word out thru some decent advertising. You would definately get all my $$!!!! (clap)

  2. setting up my 40 gallon stretch hex next weekiend if my friend gets my stand done in time. Just wondering if a 24" 4x24 T5 is enough light or should i get the 4x39? both fixtures are nova extreme, one 24" and one 36". Only prob is the tank is about 32 inches at longest point so 36" would hang over. I know that since this fixture a single reflector it wont do as well as a tek fixture but i am only going to be keeping softies to start and will retro these bulbs into a hood with individual reflectors later. i want the T5 over MH because of heat and over Pc for obvious reasons. any help appreciated! thanks - john

  3. i picked up two 40 gal stretch hexs both with glass tops and strip light that came with it. both have cherry funush. I will trade the second one for a light setup to fit the one im keeping. so anyone out there with any 30" fixtures or retro kits (preferably T-5 or MH) and wants to trade let me know!

  4. If anyone needs a new tank the dreaded petco has a smokin sale on all AGA tanks sizes 20-55. Tanks are $1 per gallon so a 20 is 20 bux! Unfortunately it doesnt include bowfronts but the 40 stretch hex by oceanic which is $249 retail rings up at $40. Haha!! so I bought 2! (whistle) sale ends saturday so get wit it! (rock2)

  5. just go to home depot and get about 4 of those concrete pads that they use to support decks and get some 4x4 posts and crawl under there and do it yerself. U can do it for probably less than 50 bucks. No certifications necessary....just place the pads along the beam and measure your lengths + about 1/4" and wedge the beams under there.
