  1. Hey all!

I have a Via Aqua Polar Bear 1/4 hp chiller for sale. It works great! Put a monster ac unit in my house 2 weeks ago, and the chiller has not come on since. Tank stays nice and cool now:D

    Here's the specs:

    Dimensions - (11.75" Tall x 12.75" Wide x 15.75" Front to Back)

Via Aqua Polar Bear 1/4 HP Chiller Details:

    - 15 degree cooling up to 125 gallons

    - 380 Watts

    - Controller can be set as low 56 F

    - Flow rate through chiller is 100 GPH to 400 GPH

    - Adjustable temperature controller. Constant digital temperature read-out

    - Titanium heat exchanger

    - The R134 refrigerant meets all environmental and international guidelines

    - Thermal protected compressor

I'd like $250 for it. It is in great shape, other than a couple of spots where the previous owner spilled glue on the outer cover(see pics)

  3. ..and its AWSOME!! Its been fun watching it develop.

You should take a bow. If not for all your help, it wouldn't be this nice.

And a few other people here have had a big hand in helping me get this thing up and running. Thanks to all!;)

You meet the coolest people reefin'(laugh)

  4. There will probably be a "bonsai" rockscaping with a few corals and sexy shrimps. Not sure about the corals, but for sure there will be my mini carpet anemones.

Just a heads up.... I just removed two sexy shrimp from my tank after watching them eat my xenia, then move on to my SPS corals after the xenia was removed. Maybe I got the only two that hadn't read all the books saying they are supposed to be reef safe, or maybe it was because I have no anemone for them to be preoccupied with. Either way, they were little terrors.

I was about to tear the rock work apart to get them out, when I had a stroke of genius while doing a water change. Took the hose and sucked the little monsters right into the bucket. They didn't know what hit 'em. Garrett has also witnessed his sexy shrimp eating xenia. Just thought it was worth mentioning. At least they won't be hard to remove from a tank that small if they do become a problem.

    Nice tank!

  5. I have dealt with this issue once and for all.:D

Went to the auto parts store, and bought some black corrugated split loom wire casing. I couldn't find 1" ID, so I had to use two pieces of 3/4" ID (one overlapping the other to cover the tubing completely. No more light, no more algae.(clap) And I can easily just pull them off if I need to get to anything.

    Here's a couple of pics

  6. Thanks to Douglas and to the sponsors! I still can't get over the tank/system:eek: Outstanding! Very nice to put faces with screen names. I had a great time.

And one more thing. Douglas, where can I get a T-shirt like the one you were wearing? Very cool!

  7. Just wanted to let everyone know that I brought a little reefer into the world on April 26th (his actual due date, LOL). I will hopefully post pics soon.

And I hope that in a couple of years he can help me with some of the chores, especially if I can put a snorkel on him and send him swimming in the tank to clean, LOL joking.

His name is William Mason Foster, weighing 5 pounds 13 ounces and 19 1/2 inches.

    Congratulations! (clap)

  8. Went to Nautilus Yesterday and picked up 3 firefish. 6 bucks apiece.:D Thanks for the heads-up John.

Kind of slim pickings on saltwater livestock, but Aaron says he's working on that. He also said he has LOTS of unused space and would love to get involved with hosting club meetings and such. I told him to get on here, and maybe even show up at the meeting this weekend.

They are located on Main street in downtown Springfield across from the pump cafe.
