  1. PPE at $50.00 a polyp come to mind as retarted. I just seen a LFS selling Tonga purple bullseye mushroom for $45.00 a polyp waaaay retarded. Dont get me wrong am i not scared to drop some big loot for something i want. I just got to want it...

Hey Randy, what about the $500-$600 "Envy" per polyp price, or the $150 per polyp price of "Envy" on Reefcentral? Either price seems a little out of whack. I like zoos, but that is a bit crazy...

  2. Welcome Brian,

I was in the shop on Wednesday, I am the short haired guy with the 3 & 1/2 year old boy running all over the place.

Brian your educational goals are quite impressive: I am sure there won't be a shortage of good books behind the counter, or a lack of informative web sites to check out. Have fun learning/re-learning!

  4. If someone would like to head up this years group buy, here is all the information.

Here is the link to last years group buy on the Eliminator E -107: http://thereeftank.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50486&highlight=107

I believe the units are now up to $19.00 each. Free shipping would kick in after the order hits $199.00.

Here is a direct link to the company I ordered from last year: http://www.idjnow.com/StoreModules/ProductDetails.aspx/PID=E107

Feedback / information from last years buy: IDJNOW.com was easy to work with, they shipped quickly & the E-107's arrived quite fast. Qualifying for the free shipping would be wise, due to the fact an entire case of these are HEAVY. If I was trying to set this up again, here are are few things that would make the whole process relatively simple. Standardize the price to let's say $20.00 (for all payment methods, PayPal, Check, Cash or what ever). This would help pay for the PayPal fees or any other unforseen costs. If at the end of the group buy there was any left over funds, one could simply donate the $'s back to the club.

I hope someone is able to make this a possibility. I was going to try to head it up again, but do to more overtime than I would like, a second job and the fact that we are trying to get our new business running, I have been running low on available time.

    Have a great day!

  5. I am looking for ricordeas or yumas. Currently I have 2 blue ones, 3 different orange ones, quite a few green ones (light and darker), purple yumas, green yumas and some others I am probably forgetting. I don't have any pictures, sorry.

I will bring some coral frags to the meeting.

Confession: A while back I wanted to frag my torch and trade it to everyone who asked, it then had an incident with direct flow from a powerhead, I let it sort of recover, then I brought it to a LFS for them to take care of. Sorry to everyone I was planning on trading it to.

I hope to see you at the meeting!

  6. You may have seen these already, if not here they are: Lighting Comparisons

I didn't see 14K here, but it is still a nice color comp. site.

Sorry I don't have any old bulbs for you, but oftentimes a LFS will help you out.

    Have a great day!

  7. It looks like everyone had a great time. I hope to get in on the next frag party!

Stacy; your post directly above this is one is one of the best posts I have seen in quite some time. What a great mix of pictures and content!

    Great job everyone
