Running PFO 400 duel ballest non-HQI,bulbs last 8-10 months vs. 6 months on HQI, with the HQI I would get a higher par rating but shorter bulb life. I'll have to look for the reefcentral link regarding the par rating, it shows bulb & ballast combos and their outputs, electronic,magnetic and hqi. I am totally happy with my lamps, I don't think my sand is too blue or anything and I appear to be having some good growth rate. My colors look good too... IMO.

We're running 400w 20k XM's over our tank. We're pretty happy with them, it's hard to consider going to something else.

Boy, they just get smarter and smarter don't they? DOH!

2 - black bear hamsters

5 - hermit/land crabs

20 gal freshwater

55 gal freshwater

30 gal sw fish w/liverock

125 gal reef tank

1 - little tiny cube tank w/1 baby bluestripe pipefish and 1 pom pom crab cheering him/her on

oh and there is Kiki our himi - she gets jealous if you spend too much time staring at the fish!!

We just got ours yesterday, and are going to try it today we'll see how everybody likes it I guess.

I used to spend much of my time with UT and was even part of a clan but then moved back to OR and well, it had to take a back seat. So now once the kids are sleepin and if I get a chance I hit the game consoles. I miss gaming!!! sad Staring at our tank till I go cross eyed kinda eats into the game time too!!!(comp)
