  1. dosing pump to dose water through the reactor in small amounts continuously. more info on what exactly you are looking for, might help us figure out what kind of help you need. like do you want to know where to plug in certain hoses or fill the unit or what?
  2. ebo jager pyrex glass heaters. accurate and reliable. virtually indestructive....(mind i did say virutally) I have one i have used for 4+ years, before that it was in storage for 5+ years (the tank i bought was in storage) and before that it was running for two years...hope that helps.
  3. Some pics of the new corals that came in today. Hope you like... -J.R.
  4. For those Canon DSLR users out there like myself, I found a place that has a 100MM macro for less than $200, its a film lens and i think with the conversion becomes like a 110mm lens, cant be beat for the price tho... pm me if you want more info since i dont know if i can post that stuff here or not. -J.R.
  5. Just some teaser shots of the new corals that came in today. Sorry if the pics are a little blurry, I was trying to post these pics fast before the corals are all gone. I didnt edit any of the pics other than sizing. Some of the corals are so bright and colorful that it throws off the entire photo.
  6. No Acros today, We did however get lots of sweet combo rocks and some nice leathers, a couple large Acan Lords, blastos and misc brains. Come by and check them out.
  7. I would... if they didnt just disappear as soon as they went in the tank...lame-a$$
  8. check inside the ballast. most MH ballasts have issues with the on/off switches burning out or melting... it might be the wires are loose or the switch is partially melted. Just happened to me about 1 month ago...
  9. 30" is nice for the extra height to allow corals to grow into place.... Some of the people i have talked to that have gone to 30" did so because corals grew too close to the surface of the tank too fast. The extra room is nice to have. I scrub the Upscales Cube tank occasionally (its 30" deep) and while i cant get all the way to the bottom with my arm, thats why they make long handled scrubbers. if you can afford the 30" go with it... you will like the extra space.

    RODI Logic

Theron is right. The membrane of the RO unit only lets water pass because the "holes" in the membrane are only small enough to let the water through. If we dont flush the membrane continuously the membrane becomes clogged and useless. The waste water (or brine) has all the waste particles in the water that we dont want. You can drink the waste if you want to but it could have higher levels of harmful contaminants. You could use it for other things like doing your laundry or watering your grass or things like that. You can get recirculating units where the water is passed through a second membrane and then recycled back through but like theron said you have to use a pump to boost the pressure back up when you recirculate it and its not a true recirculation cuz you still have to flush the contaminants out, but you get closer and closer to a true 1:1 output on these units when they get very large and at higher pressures and such. They make industrial units with multiple membranes and recirculating pumps to try to accomplish this for industrial applications. hope that helps.

  13. wont happen again until 3006.
  14. which camera are you using? Canon makes really good glass, probably the best, but you can only use them with canon cameras, so you should know which camera you are using to make sure you get the right lenses. And Canon can be a little spendy. Tamron, Sigma, and Phoenix make decent lenses for most cameras out there and they are a little more reasonable priced. Really depends on a few factors like speed of the focusing and such for the higher priced lenses. HTH
  15. Speaking of text based games. what about Nethack? we used to play that all the time. they came out with different versions but the original was word based and then it went into a kind of graphical interface where letters on the screen would make up a sort of map that you would walk around and into creatures to kill and treasure chests to open. What a great game... Angie! Speaking of WoW....I love the game. I havent played in a month or so but I used to play all the time and my brothers are all into it. I say we get all the Oregon Reefers that are into gaming and into WoW to start a guild. give me a call sometime Angie and we can play together....
  16. mine is not liking the flow he is in right now...he kinda has shrunken up a bit. i think the flow is too much for him... i will move him and get a better picture with my new camera as soon as he comes out a bit more. PS. i think you , steve and I are the only ones in the area with Giganteas but we should change the topic to include Ritteris there seem to be alot more and i am interested in seeing some pics of those... -J.R.
