  1. Kim, what is a "cuc"? Is it a sound that chickens make? My favorite clean up crew members are sea hares and black turd cucumbers or tiger tail cucumbers. Anything that leaves pellets in its path has to be doing a good job on the substrate. Only bad point is that they are bulldozers and you really need to screen your powerheads and return line because they like to crawl down them. WAW

  2. Start mixing up salt water now and storing it. I would try to keep as much of the old water as possible. I think there are times that we are so paranoid about this type of stuff we forget what happens on the real coral reef. I would try to keep the sand/cloud storm in the tank to a bare minimum. That will be the most stressful thing. You could keep the fish in a heated bucket while the added sand settles down. I think the corals will be fine so long as you keep the sand off of them. Shake em off under water or put a powerhead on them (again when the sand/funk settles) Also, your skimmer will go crazy so stay on top of that. Hope this helps.
