jason7504
anybody have one of these? PM me if you do
catholicteacher
my 2 cents: I would stay away from this, I have had 2 of these (1 being a replacement of the first) and they both shorted on me, 1 actually sparked up and about started a fire. I finally returned the 2nd one for a regular surge protector and have had no problems.
jason7504
did you have alot plugged into it? or did water get on it? i will just run 3 lights...i like the built in timer though or else i have to have like several of those cheap timers. they take up so much space though
catholicteacher
I was running 1 400 watt halide bulb, 1 led, 2 pc ballasts and powerheads/fans. The first time I did have an issue with salt buildup, the 2nd time it died on me within the first couple hours.
jason7504
well that is a little bit of a load but i would have less than 200 watts in mine..the salt build up probably caused the short and potential fire..ive heard of them dying all of a sudden too..it probably depends how lucky you are to get a good one lol
markdadof2
I have had no problems with mine at all. I wonder if there was a bad batch out there and perhaps I got lucky?
USCG CWO
I just returned one the day after I bought it. Everytime I unplugged something into the white plugs the unit reset all the programming, and would make a sparking sound. The unit also doesn't allow for much in the way of diverse timing. Big piece of (censored)! IMHO Shane
TankIt
power center I also had problems with 1 I had shorting out and it wat sparking and smoking. I am sure it would have started a fire if I had not gotten to it. My brother saw the flashing of the sparks behind the tank at 4 am when he went to the bathroom or it may have burned the house down! There was no water or slat around or on it! It was dusty but that was it! I would definatly not recommend buying one of these! If you are wanting a timer I would recommend a powerbar with a GFCI and the individual timers. The only thing I was running on my mine was my return pump, 1 65 watt PC and a couple of powerheads and a 50 watt heater on a timer to come on at night when lights were off! jason7504
is there a way to get a seperate digiital timer that can control several things without getting 3 seperate timers and plugging them into a power strip?
CA2OR
There are powerstrips that have 2 digital timers. You could start with one of those. Just FYI

I saw one when Snowpunk and I were out and I can't remember where but they had dual digital timers (one on each end) Might be at that aquaticus place I think it's called across the street from world of wet pets
