I had one for a while. They are really smart and tons of entertainment. It was kind of like a dog, when you would go up to the tank he would come out to say hi.

If you don't feed them, they will devour all your livestock. I had mine in the 'fuge, he really worked over the snails and hermit crabs. There was always a little pile of shells outside the mouth of his cave.;)

I had a peacock for a time. No pics of his tank, but I'll give you the parameters for the low maitenance regimen I kept.

29g acrylic tank was selected after he broke the bottom of the 20L glass tank I bought for him. 20lbs live rock and macroalgae. Tons of rubble and a 4inch crushed coral substrate. Lit with a NO bulb. Hang on CPR knock off skimmer with bio bale. Bi-monthly water changes with recycled water from my reef tank's water changes. A choc-chip star, damsel and dwarf lion as tankmates. He never killed them. He did however, kill many hermets, astrea snails and hitchhiker crabs. This was kept going for 6 months and worked really well, almost maitenance free. Never cleaned it, just water changes. Krill was a substitute food for the expense of entertainment coming in the form of live feedings. Eventually the girlfriend got sick of a second tank and had me make a decision. Sold him back to LFS, no worse for wear.

HTH...

BTW, nice avatar, Ron.
