Miniwhinny
I'm running a 14k 150w HQI and was wondering just how long the daylight hours should be running on my tank. Right now I have them coming on at 9am and off at 6pm but was wondering if that's too long/short or just right. Thanks Oh Happy Easter
andy
There aren't any hard and fast rules, it really depends on what you have in the tank. Some people run their halides for 6 hours a day, others for 10 or 12. Some people bracket the halides with actinics, some don't. How does the tank look? Everything growing happily, with good coloration (no browning or bleaching)? If so, you're doing fine And happy Easter to you too!
Holly
I do mine from 10-6 and bracket it with actinics for 2 hrs on both ends and I do fine. I'm with Andy- if your stock looks good, it's fine! Happy Bunnyday everyone!(clap)
Miniwhinny
Thanks guys. Everything does look great but so far all I had was softies. Just got my first SPS (green birdsnest) so I just wanted to see if things should stay the same. ...now back to eat more chocolate (whistle)(naughty)
Twitterbait
Keep in mind, BB tanks go for about 2-4 hours of light a day. sandbed tanks will take longer. but like they said, if ithe critters are happy then go for it.
