spectra
Looks like you have a mantis in your tank. Keep some food in there for it and hopefully it wont eat all the critters in your tank. They are real neat to watch and are real smart creatures. They do have claws but the kinf of carry them like a praying mantis oh and they pack a punch as that is how they kill there food. Or it might be a spearer but who knows by the vids could not really tell. Good luck with it if you want to get rid of it pull the rock that it lives in and go from there. ahreno
after looking at images, i'd guess it's a spearer... i cant find much info on them... anyone happen to have a link?
jptrson
If he's in a large rock and you want to get rid of him, you can fill his hole with super glue gel.(enforcer) Just watch your fingers, they will protect themselves.
spectra
is it a good thing to have or bad? All depends on whats in the tank. They are good if you can keep them fed and have them get along with everyone else. I have read that people can keep them with other fish and things but if they get hungry look out they will start eating whatever they can get. Does not matter if it is a 50 dollar fish or a 5 dollar fish. If you dont want it try to get it out alive and give it to someone who wants it. There are alot of people who love these things. If I had the room would love to set up a Mantis tank myself.

NO NO NO do not kill it. Plus if it is a spearer good luck on that one as it will probably get you.

Get that trap out and go to work, the trap you have will catch him, it will take soma patience but if you get out a nice piece of krill he should go in there. mrgreenthumb
got to love the hitchikers!!! Those guys can do some serious damage to tank, inhabitants, and you!! I'm sure you have heard him snap and not even relized it. Listen carefully at night. Do you have any snails or shrimp left???
ahreno
yeah, i have tons of sanils... no shrimp though to begin with... i have a 300 gallon tank so there are a ton of snails... I'm thinking this one might be a spearer as opposed to clubber? still not sure why mine is all black..... going to try my best to get this bugger out... maybe throw it on the grill or something
