coker98
So I bought a used kalk stirrer from Waves a while back and the magnetic stirrer just did not siut my needs as it would take too much to get it spinning. So, I ordered some uni-seals, got some plumbing, a holesaw and a maxi-jet 1200 and got to work. Here is the finished product. It stirs everything up very well about four times per day and it settles in the afternoon so I can refill the sump if needed. Just thought that I would share!! Nyles
Exactly what I would have done, maybe with a valve though to control flow Looks great, I have been looking for a clear tube to do the same.
coker98
Yeah the finish was good but it took me about four tries with the plumbing arrangements ,seals and the types of pumps that I used. Nyles I have heard that aquatic-eco sells clear acylic tubing. Maybe you should check them out. Thanks for the comments.
Nyles
Thanks, I have a lead for some 4" tubing at $16 fer 6 foot length, Im just debating weather I really need a kalk reactor or what Im doing now will continue to work well.
coker98
I would just say go for it. It cuts down on you having to add or have pH swings plus it helps maintain Ca and Alk. I just bought the two part solution from twopartsolution.com and it should be here on Monday. I am going to use this along with the kalk top-off.
