fishmanmike01
Just had a quick question. Does it really matter which brand or type of silicone you use to seal a tank as long as it says 100% silicone? Thanks.
MVPaquatics
Avoid the kind that says mold/mildew resistant. Silicone 1 is safe
fishmanmike01
Im wanting to use black, and thats proving to be a challenge to find. The stuff I have does not say either 1 or 2, I can not find any information on the MSDS or the manufactures site that says one or the other as well. I'm going to call the manufacturer in the morning. Anybody by chance know where to get some silicone in black that will work?

fishmanmike01
I'm nervous as the MSDS I pulled on what I have says it MAY have long term adverse effects on aquatic life.
fishmanmike01
And that's under Ecotoxicity.
saltygobie
That's kinda wierd if its 100% silicone that makes it so it has No mildaside and when it's fully cured it shouldn't leach anything
saltygobie
I would say go to ace , buy the ace brand 100% silicone and use that used it on all my tanks never had a problem
