Mcahill Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 New to this forum but been in the hobby for about ten years and looking to get a new tank built for my house I bought last year. Looking for some advice on who to talk to about a 48x30x24 rimless starfire tank. Been looking at lee mar and was able to see a couple of great builds down in AZ by lee mar last week but not sure if they have a distributor up here in the PDX area. Any advice on good builders in the NW would be appreciated. Thanks Marty
Gill Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I don't know of any glass builders but James at Envision makes sweet acrylic tanks and he is local. P.S. I'm not sure "sweet" really gets across the point I was trying to make. How about AMAZING!!!! SPECTACULAR!!!! or maybe just "works of art".
Mcahill Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Not a big fan of acrylic I've seen his work and it is amazing.
Mohaynow Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 They arent open yet but, you could be one of their first customers! http://www.oceansbydesign.com/ As far as a custom glass tank builder in the portland area? I can't help there. It seems like its becoming a lost artform.
Garrett Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Yeah never heard of custom glass around here, seems like its more $$ to learn nased on fact glass is more $ and alot harder to work with
NoobtoSalt Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Nothing local but Doug oxx155 had hid tank built up north. Check out his build thread I'm sure it states where and who made it. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Mohaynow Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Oxx155 had his tank built by miracles aquariums in Canada, I believe.
Garrett Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Just about one of the most $$ glass aquarium around, they make so many beautiful tanks, large tank builds on reefcentral, i drool over there worl constantly. Couldnt imagine having it shipped, i believe theyre more east on canada
MVPaquatics Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I like miracles. Shipping is reasonable considering its crossing national borders and such large/heavy/fragile objects. Good quality and service. Starfire. The whole nine yards. I believe they are warrantied also
