frlejo
I am thinking of setting up a coldwater tank, any input (positive or negative would be helpful). as far as upkeep, maintience, cost goes. I understand you can get a permit to harvest your own stuff on the coast in oregon. thanks

FatChevy
I've had my cold water tank going for a few months now. I live on the coast in gold beach. I have yet to put a chiller on mine and the temp spikes at most 67 degrees. I was told by Josh from coldwateraquatics that maintenance is less excruciating then with tropical. I am going through the cycles stages of my tank and have yet to do a water change or really anything for that matter. as for the tank. I have a 210 glass tank. no sweating at all. even my 40l sump doesnt sweat. one thing I advise, dont use the dark colored sand from the beach. nothing shows up in the tank. If I were to do it again I would just get white/brown sand that way everything crawling around shows up!
