gradth
Just kinda curious if membranes are the same no matter what brand. As long as you go with the right GPH unit. I have a 150 GPH unit from aquahub and was wondering if I could get one from BRS or other sites? THanks.

gradth
So purewater is about 10 bucks cheaper. Is there any quality difference in different brands? Sorry for dumb questions but I am trying to slowly narrow down my issues with my tank and I want to start with making sure my water is good. BrianB
I have only used the filmtec ones made by DOW. 2 years on the current membrane and going strong. Still 0 TDS water and i go through alot of water.
gradth
Thanks for the input. Went with Purewaterclub since I got a 6 piece replacement pack for my unit with the membrane for 67 bucks shipped. Couldnt find a better price anywhere else. Buckeye Field Supply
No, all membranes are definitely not the same. If low cost of initial purchase is your only goal, I think you went to the right place.

Buckeye Field Supply
I answered your original question. If you are asking if they are all the same size, then nearly all the membranes you see are called "1812" membranes - meaning 1.8" in diameter and 12" long - all thes will fit in the same RO membrane housing. If you are asking about performance - then no, they are not the same. Check the manufacturer's specifications for the feedwater pressure and you'll see one brand, Filmtec, is spec'ed at 50 psi. Other brands are spec'ed at 60 or 65 psi. For some brands at some vendors, usually very low cost imports sold on the auction website, there are no specs provided, no brand name, and you have no idea what you're buying.
