Reef madness Posted January 27, 2012 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Well I have always been a skeptic when it comes to new technology, but after seeing my last electric bill I admit, I am less of a skeptic now. I did my research on these new ecoray 60d lights and decided to start with 2 for my 180 gallon. The only drawback is that they are a very focused light and therefore dont have the spread of a typical halide, and I will probably end up buying one more of these units for the darker spot in my tank. Having said that, the light that it does put out penetrates nicely to the bottom of my tank and only 60 watts each!! By the way if anyone out there is wanting to buy some old 175 K Hamilton technology Ballasts, bulb and socket, I have these sets for sale on Craigslist for $50 a set or both for $80.
