Hewey McLovit
So my emerald crab molted on Monday night and to my surprise he/she is on steroids! His pincher's are twice the size and the body is 1.5x as big as the molted shell. Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it temporary or am i hallucinating? NoobtoSalt
Just sounds like it's growing. I had a few emeralds in some of my old tanks that were huge after about a year. I wasn't planning on selling them at the time but I had a person over at my house so amazed with how big they were that I sold him one..LOL

Hewey McLovit
Probably a large male also. For sparring That's how i saw him with his huge claws coming up from behind a rock going after my male Anthia's. Good thing they move like their in molasses which will allow me to keep all my fingers.

Hopefully his 'New' self will give him the confidence to survive the open parts of the tank?
beardedsmurf
Mine recently molted and is gargantuan in comparison to its old size as well. Another interesting side effect is that his shell turned completely black for a couple of days, and is now about 60% green (the rear 1/2 of it).
