racefan
Anybody know how to get a Derasa clam to let loose of the rock that it has it's foot attached to? I had to swap tanks due to mine cracking and was unable to put the rock back into the same place & now the clam is on it's side. Should I just leave it & see if it will straighten up (never worked with me(laugh)) Mike
MVPaquatics
You can leave it sideways and it might drop off. I just usually cut the byssal threads as close as you can to the rock. Derasas usually have way less than maximas and croceas so you should be ok. Just use a clean razor.
