OwenReefin Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 Over the last couple of months I have been battling mass nutrient build up in my remote deep sand bed / macro algae tank. What was happening was that under the algae a ton of nutrient build up was laying on the sand bed. It was pretty ugly looking about a week ago. This might be because of lack of flow, but I thought that remote fuge tanks could be low flow. (100-150gph ish. What I am just wondering is how people have made remote deep sand beds work for them successfully or not. This picture was 3 months ago, so imagine this but with a ton more algae and a crap load more nutrients under it built up. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
