Pylum
So I'm getting ready to transfer into a larger tank this weekend and I have 2 wrasses that bury themselves in the sand. How do I go about catching them without stirring up too many toxins that settle in the lower sand bed?
reef165
transfer out as much water that you are going to use first,( you may want to only use about 2/3 of the water anyway, plus fill a 5 gallon bucket for rincing off the sand, rince sand in the water thats left in the tank first, then in the bucket, then put into the new tank.) then run your fingers through the sandbed to find them, watch whare they go. I know cause he is happily swiming in my tank. But if you are breaking the tank down any way take every thing you want out and start moving the sand till you find them. Watch them closely as they sometimes will leap out of the tank when startled.
