NoobtoSalt
Ok so I'm doing this mostly FOWLR tank (8x2x2 240 gallons) and I have a return pump on my current 120 that is rated at about 2400 gph and the new tank I just got has a Gen-x PCX-55HP pump rated at around 1100 gph. I know this sounds like a no brainer but with a FOWLR do I really need all that turn over in the tank? I'm still going to be running two powerheads in the tank as well. impur
Any GPH over what your skimmer can handle is a waste
NoobtoSalt
Any GPH over what your skimmer can handle is a waste Thanks for the info. I had no clue about that. I was always under the impression that more flow in the top was good. Miles to the rescue yet again..(laugh)
MVPaquatics
Any GPH over what your skimmer can handle is a waste Short and sweet. And so true. There has been a lot of talk about sump flow rate lately. There is no reason to push mad GPH through the sump. Usually leads to more problems anyways
NoobtoSalt
makes me feel better hearing it more than once. I guess I was just always expecting more flow. I will stick with the current setup on the tank then. Thanks guys!
