I fixed my skimmer!!!

I talked to Miles the other day about how the water/bubbles in his skimmer looked completely different from mine. His was completely white and you can't see in more than maybe a 1/4". He said that I needed to reduce my flow and up my air intake, so I went to work looking online for some inspiration. One thing I noticed is that my pump didn't have a removable Venturi (like so:http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&cp=18&gs_id=20&xhr=t&q=PSK+2500+venturi&pq=psk+2500+venturi&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1024&bih=598&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=16590015180315810948&sa=X&ei=SuI-TpO6A-jmiAK2yZHDBg&sqi=2&ved=0CDkQ8wIwBA). I'm not paying $20 for one. So, I took some threaded 1" PVC, siliconed a cap on the end, drilled a hole in the side and in the cap, screwed it onto my skimmer, and now, it's a whole new beast!

And while I was messing with it, I noticed that it does not have a mesh mod like the guy said (should have looked sooner anyways). So can someone point me out how to do it?
