cellowithgills
I broke a baffle while adjusting my skimmer (clap)DOH!. So I think I'm going to redo my whole sump. I just spent some time reading a heated argument about why you shouldn't use acrylic baffles in a glass sump but I think I'm going to do it anyways. So for the design, I'm thinking 1/4" acrylic in this order: filter sock, to skimmer, to bubble trap (either 3 baffles or 5 baffles), to refugium, to return. Sound good? wanareef
To save room all you need is the three baffles before the return, JMO
Mohaynow
3 baffles should be enough to stop micro bubbles. I recently baffled a 55 gallon for a sump and realized I put in way too many solid baffles. I am going to remove the glass and replace it with eggcrate on all the baffles instead of the bubble trap of corse lol.
cellowithgills
I was going to add the bubble trap because of my skimmer, but it stop being a pain in the @$$ this afternoon so I'm not sure if I will do a full 3 baffle bubble trap, to save money I may just do a 2 baffle version. All the baffles I'm using will be to control water level. Here's what I'm thinking now:
