h2odvl
I have a few of these guys in my tank, they used to be all white but seem to be getting the strips like my Mexican turbos have. What do you think?
TheGooseWhisperer
There is a type of small snail that eats zoas. I think they are called sundials, but could be mistaken. If they are sundails they will multiple quickly and wipe out any zoas they can find. I had them a couple years ago. Mine only came out at night though. Saltfinsax
Sun dials will have a cone shaped hole cover on the back of there tail, or if there closed up. Other snails have a flat hole cover.
NoobtoSalt
I didn't want to post up earlier but I thought it was a sundail as well. I would get them out asap. I know Jody was looking for some awhile back, might want to check with him.
Kempo66
Once they start to multiply, how would you go about getting rid of them? I may have sundials in my tank...

Well I took one out and inspected, no cone shape cover and the body shape is not like a sundial. Here are a few close up shot, Here is a shot of the baby Here is shot of said mom/dad Sundial vs Mine

C0lin
The mom is a zebra snail. I have one. If it did come from the "mom", I think he has one of the cooler looking snails.
TheGooseWhisperer
When I had a sundail outbreak I just kept raiding the tank with a flashlight a couple times a night and pulled out everything I could find. I didnt stop until I saw no snails after several days. I pulled well over 100 of them out of a 29g, but they were propogating for quite sometime before I found out they were doing damage. These might not be sundails though. I would at the very least toss them in your sump though...right?

lewisriverfisherman
I would be careful putting these little guys in the sump as well. Lets say 1 got into a pump and your not running a sponge before the pump. I dont know how small these guys are from the picture. Just my 2cents worth.
