NoobtoSalt
Alright so I've been toying with the idea of getting LED's but I think for the time being I will stick with the halides. But I want to swap out my VHO's and get different reflectors for my halides. I want to do 4 48" T5's in on my 6ft tank. I plan on having two in the front off set and two behind the halides off set to get some decent color across the whole tank. My question is I checked the ballast that is currently running my VHO's and it has no writting on it so I don't know if it's a Workhorse 5 or 7. If it's a 7 from what I understand I can run 4 T5's off of it. Any suggestions on this would be great. Also what type of reflectors are good underneath a hood? I will be selling off my batwings and VHO's cheap once I get my new setup but am curious as to what others would recomend. Thanks!

reef165
4 foot T5's are 54 watt so what are the wattages of your VHO's? As long as they are 4 footers (110 watts)or bigger, you can add 2 T5's in place of 1 VHO.
finch6013
There is a noticeable size difference in a workhorse 5 and 7. I don't know the dimensions off hand but you could find out by searching a little. The WH7 is much longer than the 5.

Smann
Check out Fulman's site they have the sizing and wiring diagrams http://www.fulham.com/Find_Process.php. You can use the 7 for 4 54w if you want them to come on at the same time, if you want two and two then you'll need another ballast
NoobtoSalt
So now onto the reflector question. Which ones are good for a not so large hood?
