sergebmw3
what does this mean Recommended minimum linear overflow size = 54 inches? reefcentral has a calculation system that you put in your GPH and they give you the Grain size and then the overflow size. Yet iam confused on what they mean by linear overflow size(scratch)(scratch)(scratch)(scratch)

Rick
This is the edge portion of your overflow that the water actually falls over. For instance if you have a corner over flow that has 2 sides that measure 12" from the side of the tank and 6" to the back of the tank then the combined linear size is 18". If your overflow goes across the entire back of a 48" tank then the linear size is simply 48".
