jonas
My brother has a 29gal biocube. He had red cyno algae. So he bought the stuff to kill it and it worked ,but now he has long brown stringy hair like algae. Is this because of the cyno killing stuff or another issue? How to get rid of it?Sorry cant post pics.(scratch)

grassi
Where it is growing? Low flow or high flow areas?
jonas
In the sand, high flow.He said he bought some new sand and put it were it is at a couple weeks ago.Could this be a reason?
grassi
It could be just turf algae that grows in high flow areas. Give us some more infos about your setup, the usual infos: how old, dosed products, livestock....
OwenReefin
Hope not bryopsis, I am struggling with this crap.
Harold B
Chances are that you killed any/all cyno leaving the door open for a dinoflagellate bloom due to what I suspect might have been the original problem which is silicates/phospates. Just a "guess" without knowing any info.
