Drew
Right now i don't have anything on the back of my tank so I'm losing a bunch of light. I'm moving very soon and was thinking about just painting the back. Does anyone have experience or what kind of paint would work best considering the high moister and salt? What about color? Nate
I just used black spray paint for mine. It looks great.
NoobtoSalt
Yeah black paint worked fine for my tank as well. I just used black spray paint for mine. It looks great. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
newfisher
+2, but it has to be empty and dry. Do not spray when its up and running, vapors may harm the inhabitants. I have heard of using POR15 and a small detail roller when the tank is full.
Drew
When we move i was going to paint it since its away from the wall and empty. I thought using blue was better since it reflects more light back in?
TRENT
I have always used Krylon paint. Seems to hold up good. Sell's at Walmart. http://www.krylon.com/products/
newfisher
I think it comes down to personal preference. Light or medium blue would reflect more than black, but if you were focused on light retention you could use a mirrored mylar and capture most of it. Heck, it would even look like 2 tanks at the right angle LOl
Drew
Without anything on the back now it kind of looks like two tanks... almost looks like a mirror at times. Im thinking of a lighter color to reflect light back in until the tank gets some coralline going on.
defigart
Spray paint it the way to go. I know it seems obvious, but Ive seen it done wrong. You paint the outside.
jackaninny
Krylon Fusion is what you want. Fusion bonds to plastics instead of just covering it. Seems to work just as well on glass also.
lewisriverfisherman
If your looking for a light color to reflect light back in I would use white.
