mattic_7
New to the forum/first post -- looking for advice on what to buy & would also love to hear what people have for sale. We've only had a 29g biocube so haven't needed a skimmer or sump before, but our 72g is cycled and ready for livestock -- we'd like to replace the skimmer that came with the tank (super noisy) and also do a sump w/ an overflow box (because tank isn't drilled) before putting any fish or corals in it. Thanks in advance for the help!
Trautman
look in classified for WAVES post. he has a ton of skimmers of all shapes and sizes, they are at excellent prices, and he is a good guy. pm him!
jgf86123
If the tank isn't stocked yet, it's no big deal to drain it, just save the water, an then drill it, several of the members here on the forums are great at drilling, and I can recommend one, Rick, screenname the same, from personal experience. mattic_7
Thanks for the referral - I messaged WAVES... And we were told it was impossible to drill the tank because it's tempered glass....?
jgf86123
Ive never heard of a 72g bow being tempered on the back...are you positive its tempered? Overflow boxes are accidents waiting to happen drilling is much safer lol. If you know the name of the tank manufacturer you can call them an find out, its worth a shot. defigart
I believe that 72Bs made by Aqueon/AllGlass are just regular glass on the back and sides. But please verify before you drill, I have no responsibility in your decision.

mattic_7
Thanks for the info guys -- we're going to go ahead and buy one locally this weekend. We'd love to save some cash and buy one offered on here, but have absolutely no time to drive north and pick it up.
