Bigjohnwoody
I just started my tank about 6 days ago and am wondering if it is now a good time to add chaeto? If it is a good time I am looking to get some good quality stuff, preferably full of Copepods and such! Also I need some good quality seed sand so I can get some more life going in my tank! Trying to do stuff the best way I can but I don't really know anyone in my area to get sand from! Thanks! John
ReeFit
Seed sand yes, cheato no. you don't want to put a refugium in your tank until your tank has cycled. give it a good month and a half. the problem is your cheato will pretty much starve if it doesn't have a good nutrient base to feed off of besides just light. Gilliroo
Hope you don't mind my hopping on here too, Bigjohnwoody, but I need some macroalgae too. I got some a few weeks ago, and I just noticed that there's some aiptasia on it. I need to pull it all out of my refugium before that stuff makes its way to my display tank! Anyone in PDX doing some pruning soon? Thanks! Gillian

Gabe
I know I am still a drive, but you can have all the live sand you want. I have a 120 that I am about to siphon 1 to 1 1/2 inches out of. Let me know. Gabe
Harold B
you can't beat that offer.

Why are you taking out your sand? Going barebottom? I will let you know for sure but probably too far! Thanks a lot though!
Gabe
Sand is a little too deep for my taste, and I will be re-aquascaping. I will be doing it in the next week or so, if you want some I will put some in a container in the sump so as to not kill all the good stuff.
