Timer

Just picked up the Coralife Power Center Digital Timer. Need some help setting it up and which plug corresponds to what number. Is there a manual somewhere online i can refer to? Its tricky with T5s and Metal Halides

It's not the same one. i Have the digital display one. I'm having troubles setting it all up, like which outlet corresponds to what number (1-7 on the programming).

Do they have a way to turn each one on and off. If so then just plug a light into each one and turn each number on and off until you find the right one. Chances are you only need to do this with a couple of them. (They will be numbered in order from one end or the other) Then use a permanent marker to put the number on each outlet.

Looking at the manual for that one I would bet that number one is on the top left closest to the main switch with number 2 next to it.

The one I had had 4 plugs that were run on the timer 2 day and 2 night. Timing a bunch of stuff wasn't an option.

 

Do they have a new one that runs different plugs?

You'll need one like this to control both lights to be on at different times but still cross paths.

 

I would keep the one you have and set it up for the Halides and moonlights then get a $5 one from Fred Meyer for the T-5's. I'm assuming you have this one...

So i just plug the halides into the yellow slots and hit program once displaying program mode 1 and just set the time for the on and off then exit out and make sure its on Program mode? IMplying that once the halides kick off the moonlights only will turn on.

That sounds right as long as the full week is displayed for the day part you should be able to use 1 program.

Im then confused by why i can set several different programs (1-7) under the program mode and how to set which i want to run.

If you have the second timer pictured by snowpunk all you can control are the yellow and blue. The white are always on. They give you 7 programs to turn things off and on at different times on different days but all its gonna do is:

 

turn on yellow/turn off blue then turn on blue/turn off yellow.

 

Its not the best timer IMO

Ok so do you know how to set which program i want to run? Say i set program 1 to turn on at 8 and off at 10pm, how do i get the timer to execute program 1 everyday?

Either before or after you put in the time there should have been a point where you were cycling through days of the week. If you want it every day obviously it should say mon thru sun on screen.

Yup got that set up, there's also a mode button that either makes it off, on, auto, or RDN. Not sure what to set that to

I use the random once you've set everything. this lets the lights switch happen within 15 minutes on either side to the time you actually set on there. gives just a bit of diversity in time...

I have the same one if it is the Coralife Aquacenter.The yellow plugs on top are run with the program buttons. The blue plugs ONLY work when the yellow plugs turn off. The four white plugs work all the time like a regular power strip and are not affected by the program buttons. So if you have your daytime lights plugged into the yellow plugs and your moonlights plugged into the blue plugs as soon as your daytime lights go out the moonlights automatically come on.
