lucid
Thought i would start my official tank thread, since i finally got all of my rock situated, have about 130-140 lbs of rock in there now. Some pics i took today: Is that an anemone in the last pic? Good/bad?
ReeFit
did you figure out your overflow issue?
lucid
yup, got it all figured out! Except the "silencer" i dont think is setup right, it's still pretty loud...
ReeFit
the next thing i'd recommend on your setup is getting that plumbing for the supply line hooked up to a seaswirl.
lucid
Do i still need one even though i have a powerhead next to the supply line?
snowpunk
I don't know what pump your running or what the flow output is but you could always cut the return line and add in some locline to direct the flow where you want it. Cut it and put one of these on... Then screw one of these in... Then maybe toss one of these on the end... Then add some of this on each end... Then add one of these on each end of those... Then you'll get something that looks similar to this that will hell direct your flow better... If you have a lower flow pump maybe take the Y out and just use one line in. You only need the nozzle in the water though so you can start it high if you needed. It's never too late to drill:p
ReeFit
random flow is very important in a reef tank, it looks like your forcing water down into the sand bed, it doesn't seem ideal, i like my return flow to disperse out into the tank, a sea swirl just makes it randomized. you can also use lock line like what snowpunk suggested to help divert flow into key areas of your tank.
