andy Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Re-aquascaped this afternoon. I'm pretty happy with the result, better than the old wall-o-rock. Quote
DChemist Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I think that looks great- would you want to post a before photo? Darren Quote
andy Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Re: light -- magnetic ballast on one side, electronic on the other. old bulbs in both :-( Bigger pic here Before: Quote
ringwurm Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Looks great. I like the two seperate islands. Quote
Nyles Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Just commented because it seemed like you had way more light on the right. Quote
andy Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Yes, something camera-related really makes it obvious. There is a slight color temp and intensity difference but it isn't that noticeable in person. Quote
impur Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Great job, i really like the new look. Your brain looks bleached... Quote
andy Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Great job' date=' i really like the new look. Your brain looks bleached...[/quote'] My brain is bleached, the trachyphyllia healthy -- just overexposed (laugh) Quote
tidalsculpin Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I think it is a nice rockscape. Do your fish like it? Quote
andy Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 Yes, the Flame Angel in particular enjoys zooting around within and between the new rockwork. The Clowns are sticking to their area (I didn't change that), a little cave under a Monti cap. overcropping. The Yellow Tang just ambles back and forth, doing the Tang thing. And now, all I see is the difference in brightness between one side and the other :P Quote
Ronjunior Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I like the open look better too. I did something like when I redid my rockwork after a fish hunt instead of a complete wall. Gives the fish another place to roam. I tried to open up a little bare spot of sand in between like yours, but each time I redo my rockwork, I end up with some on the sand betweeen the hills. Quote
mister crabs Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 looks good! I have my 40 stretch hex and i am going to go for a "two island" look as well with maybe a bridge across it to put my clam on. Quote
andy Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 One thing's for sure, aquascaping a 15" wide tank is a bugger. My next will be no less than 24" front to back. Quote
Ranger Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I did the same on my tank. One main reef side witha small island off to the right with LPS and softies only. I like the channel idea in between and the fish love it. Nice job. Quote
