lancecobb1
Up for sale is a a 4' pfo fixture, It has two 10000k ushio bulbs with two vho's. One of the vho's is a uv super actinic and the other is a uv aqua sun. Icecap 430 for the vhos It has ice cap fans on both ends. Now for the bad. It does not have the glass but alot of people dont even use it anyway. Would like to get $300 for it.
lancecobb1
I got the vho ballast, but I might end up keeping the fixture now?... (I keep thinking to myself that would look sweet on my frag tank)
lancecobb1
Bump...No one needs a sweet light set up with all the bulbs and ballasts? These usually sell for around $500 used. It would be easy to run higher wattage bulbs, Just add ballasts and bulbs!
lancecobb1
Bump I thought this would sell fast, guess not!
jgf86123
Dude, if I had a 48" tank, I'd be all over this thing, but that build is still a couple months away due to some unforeseen pet medical expenses.
lucid
Looking to get this for my 55 gal, which is 48". Will be my first tank, how will these be for coral? lancecobb1
This light would rock a 55 gallon tank! It would definitely be an upgrade from the pc fixture you have.
lucid
How does it compare the MH bulbs? What will i not be able to do with these lights? and do you have any pics illuminating a tank?
ReeFit
you could do anything with these lights. if i was going to keep my 55g, i would have scooped these up the first day they were posted.
lancecobb1
You are kinda limited with what you can do with pc's, zoa's and softies. With the halides you will be able to keep any coral or clam. I dont have a pic but maybe tomorrow ill set it up on my frag tank and snap some pics. MarkBirkett
Great Deal I have the same lighting on my 210 tank (400 watt halides) and they were over a grand for a 6 footer. These are great lights to grow anything in a reef tank. His ballasts are perfect wattage for a 55 gallon tank. Great deal
lancecobb1
Well I put it on my frag tank today just to see how it looked! I wish I didnt need the money or I would keep it... Here is a pic.

lucid
So i could just buy some metal hallides for this fixture and be good as i will ever get as far as lighting for my 55gal? Or would i even need hallides?
jgf86123
Halides or comparable lighting, such as T5HO, which is T5 bulbs with individual reflectors, are highly recommended for higher end corals, such as SPS. With a 55, I would recommend either a 4' MH fixture, or a 6-8 bulb T5HO fixture, but make sure that with whatever fixture you get for T5HO's, that it has individual reflectors. JonBoy
I have a 4 bulb T5HO over my 55 and my sps frags do fine, but that metal halide fixture would be ideal because not only do you have the power of the metal's but it has VHO's also so you can put some super actinic VHO's and add more color to your corals.
