thatguy559
i just cut out the shape of the sure grip magnet and superglued it in place. the other side is a mag float
gradth
i just cut out the shape of the sure grip magnet and superglued it in place. the other side is a mag float Huh, never thought of that, Is it good and solid? Sorry been toying around with a couple different frag racks and have yet to find one I am happy with. I guess i could just stop being cheap and buy one of those nice prefabbed ones. Anyway, tank looks really nice. Thanks for the input.
rgrcrain
Randy-S has the same racks. I actually bought one of the little clear frag racks and the magnets are junk, they just tip over when you get it full. After seeing Randys Im holding my clear one up with the mags it came with and my mag float.
thatguy559
new update got my plasma light in i have a new issue that is gonna force me to buy a rimless 120g tank. you can see buy the pictures this is at 100% all these pictures are unedited straight from the camera
thatguy559
okay picked up the reflector friday modded my plasma light sat morning. this is not the final product i just wanted to make sure it worked and everything is functional. i must say this reflector is a huge difference this is the light at 50% power. i also added a coralsky royal blue led strip i did how ever sun burnt my corals for a bout 8 hours. i had to go out and purchase a a piece of glass that is 97% uv blocking. my corals are just now opening back up. lesson learned
jgf86123
The only issue I can see with it is the brace across the middle, not sure if I'd personally like having that shaded strip across the middle of the tank lol.
thatguy559
yeah i dont like it either. but the whole reason for the new light was to save money. the pictures make it look bad. in person its really not hat bad. im gonna install another royal blue led strip in the front. reef165
That dosn't look bad at all!! I think it needs to be mounted a little higher to get rid of the obvious light spread, but the color dosnt look bad, can you dial it back a little? I have herd that it gains blue color if dimmed. Whare did you get it? Do you have a link?
thatguy559
yes you can dial it back to 40% its like a 15k-20k radium look. here is the link i bought it from http://straylightoptical.com/slot/cart.jsf;jsessionid=306E7BC82D559A1502E6C55C49E5E351 im still working on the height right now. its at 9" to the bottom of the reflector. dee77
on my 200DD i have a 400 watt mh on each side of the brace and then vho's and i dont get that bar of shade... but i love how the tanks looks also nice tangs
thatguy559
i had 2 250w 15k radiums i didnt see the center brace. thats 500w of electricity. i now only use about 250w with the light dialed back a bit and it puts out more light then the other 2 metal halides did. also the heat coming off the bulb feels like my 70w hqi de bulb on my fuge. so by adding that light i removed chiller fans 250w electricity i will see what the savings are when i get this months bill.
