CCR
Did it have room for a light in the middle? Possible UV. Or maybe some type of heat exchanger. If neither add 2 parts rum and enjoy
ReeFit
yes i would agree, looks like a heat exchanger of some sort. kind of odd looking, but neat none the less. i would throw it away. LOL as for the sump, we need a better pic, its hard to see what it is.
moovinfast
I kinda looks like a de nitrator to me. Isnt that how the DIY de nitrators are made? But not clear?
ToxicPoison
I kinda looks like a de nitrator to me. Isnt that how the DIY de nitrators are made? But not clear? This is what I'm thinking too..especially if that big black box is a chiller? Doesn't make sense to have a heat exchanger and a chiller. I'd toss it regardless.. culp686
the black box is a wet dry. it has a sponge on top and full of bio balls. i got all excited to hook this thing up to my 30 but i was already in the middle of building a sump for it. stopped by the LFS and decided they could use this thing more than i could, so i will be dropping it off to them tomorrow. thanks for all the input, but i think i am just going to go with my original plan. i will say though, it is always fun to get a new piece of equipment for free and try to figure out where and how to use it. thanks again
