Tank Sphere

I hatched up a new hairbrained plan... and it involves a display tank that is an orb or sphere, but does anyone know where I could get a glass (hopefully) or if not acrylic sphere thats 18-24 inches in diameter?

I had one in sight at cost plus... but it only held 6.5 gallons, and I want around 12

its a little big i know... maybe a fountain shop? like the ones they use in those ball fountains, where the water comes out the top and spills down the side... hummmmm

There is something called the bio orb. They make them up to 16 gallons. Find one at petsmart.

Tanks of that size have been around for quite awhile (ST:TNG, anyone? ) and I've seen them at several custom acrylic shops but don't forget about the consequences of such a shape... such as surface area for gas exchange, access for cleaning/coral placement/etc. I would think that the top openings are quite small so the water line can be fairly high.(?)

thats the other thing is I want an opening around 8 inches... but the tank is going to be hooked up to a 50 gallon refugium, so that will give it tons of surface area
