oldbrownies Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I hatched up a new hairbrained plan... and it involves a display tank that is an orb or sphere, but does anyone know where I could get a glass (hopefully) or if not acrylic sphere thats 18-24 inches in diameter? Quote
Ronjunior Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Bed Bath and Beyond Seriously though, you may find something like that online under vases and such. Quote
oldbrownies Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 I had one in sight at cost plus... but it only held 6.5 gallons, and I want around 12 Quote
oldbrownies Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 its a little big i know... maybe a fountain shop? like the ones they use in those ball fountains, where the water comes out the top and spills down the side... hummmmm Quote
tidalsculpin Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 There is something called the bio orb. They make them up to 16 gallons. Find one at petsmart. Quote
inkto Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Tanks of that size have been around for quite awhile (ST:TNG, anyone? ) and I've seen them at several custom acrylic shops but don't forget about the consequences of such a shape... such as surface area for gas exchange, access for cleaning/coral placement/etc. I would think that the top openings are quite small so the water line can be fairly high.(?)
