impur Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I have enough materials to build 3 or 4 more MJmods. So i thought what the heck i'll offer em up for trade for frags!! These will fit all MJ pumps perfectly, but the prop i will supply can only be turned by an MJ1200 (if you want to use a smaller MJ i can give you instructions on how to use a smaller prop). These badboys will be pushing 1500-2000gph. I would like to trade a completely built shroud, and glued impeller for cool zoa frags, or maybe some monti frags. All you will have to do to complete the mod is take apart your MJ, remove the blades on the impeller and the stainless steel shaft. Then attach the flexible tubing that will come attached to the prop to your impeller (as simple as pushing rigid airline into flexible airline) with a dab of superglue and your done. Put it together and let er rip. So let me know if this interests anyone! Miles Quote
impur Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Pics of the last couple i built Here is how i mounted one using some Seio mounting hardware Using a smaller impeller, roughly 1300-1500gph Look at the surface of the water!! Quote
dippin61 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 [language filter].. how you keep the centering airline in the center.. i cant for the life of me get mine quite center Quote
impur Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 I make it 2.5" long and put the hole in the center. Then i glue it in. Quote
dippin61 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 its the centering on the pvc i cant get :p Quote
impur Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Ahh. I guess i just wing it. Mark the hole and drill it then drill thru the other side as well so its straight. Quote
vanz Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Ahh. I guess i just wing it. Mark the hole and drill it then drill thru the other side as well so its straight. I think the drilling straight down for centering is hard. That takes skills man. What about having a string and wrap it around the pipe, cut the string to fit, then fold it in half, and then mark the middle. Wrap it around the pipe again and mark where the string meet, and make another mark where you marked the middle of the string. Then drill. Quote
impur Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Both great ideas!! Nyles' is easier though lol Quote
Ronjunior Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 its the centering on the pvc i cant get :p Use a drill press to keep the bit straight. Quote
dippin61 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Use a test cap' date=' the center is marked.[/quote'] hmm. the test caps i have arent marked. Where you get yours? I got mine at lowes. and i wish i had a drill press :p for a guy, i probably have the least amount of tools you'd never see. (laugh) (laugh) Quote
Nyles Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Well the test caps are injected molding pieces of plastic, and you can clearly see the "Bulge" where they are injected on the ones I get and its definitely the center, I get them at Jerry's, its the only test caps they sell. Quote
