ciao
Does anybody know where I could rent a glass polishing kit? I need to polish off a side of my tank that is all covered in scales from water being splashed on it from a fountain.
dsoz
If the tank empty or full of life? If it is empty, you can use a weak acid to remove scale deposits. Vinegar works (but takes a long time). Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) works a lot faster, but you need to be really careful!!!! For the novice acid user you would need to be close to a hazmat suit in protective wear to go with the muriatic (not quite, but face shield, gloves and clothes that you don't mind getting holes in as well as a safety water source, hose, running nearby). PM me for more advice if you want. If it is full of life, I don't know what to say to help you out. dsoz
ciao
Actually the scales are on the outside of the tank. I tried Muriatic acid, Bam!, and CLR and none of them worked. The polishing kit is my last option right now
