USCG CWO
I rinse them in the sink, then soak them in a bucket of bleach water for a day. Then rinse them really, really well in the sink again and hang to air dry. I feel your pain with the wife and washing machine. Shane

COReefer
what kind of shop vac? Would you mind telling me little more info... I think I need one :-) yep just a regular ol shop vac. it works great. I also have a python that screws onto the sink that works for getting the stuff out too. Algae
Do the same here. Change my socks when I change the socks on my feet; every week, even if not needed. I TRY to change every day but sometimes it is two days. Just worried about nitrate traps. Turn them inside out and do two rinses. No soap, no bleach. The problem I am having is where my overflow enters is where I used to have my skimmer intake. I am going to build a box type baffle and put the snout into the hole so I don't risk having the skimmer intake blocked by the sock. Just use the WM when she isn't home! GolfReefer
I use them but I buy felt sheets at walmart and sew them into socks and just toss them in the trash when the start looking brown.
