Lowman
The retail for this new is well over $500. So here is what I have: A 48" New Wave t-5 fixture 8 x 54 watt. About six months old. Comes with hanging gear and 8 bulbs. This is a screaming deal for $350.

Logical1
nice, its good to get prepurchase feedback. it sure gives one the ability to deal with confidence. Bob, when you get one minute can you give me the depth of the light I want to make sure this will fit over the tank front to back. My tank is 18" deep from face to back of glass. Lowman
It is 21" front to back
Logical1
Hmmm my tank is only 18" do you think I should probaly get a 6 tube light so I can be pretty much flush to the tank width and 100% light is over the tank... you know Im asking if the width of this one is going to be overkill...for my tank. I dont want a ton of extra lighting all over the place. also does this have a splash guard. it seems all the new wave lights I looked at do not take a spash guard and will not protect the bulbs. Lowman
It will hang over about an inch on both front and back. They don't come with splash guards, but you also can hang it 6 inches or higher above the tank so it won't splash on the bulbs. Measuring this from front bulb to back bulb it is 18" There is a gap from the last bulb to the edge of the fixture of 1 1/2 inches on both sides.
