hey bro' date=' you are going to wanna get the clam off of the sand. Maxima's prefer the rock and will thrive there.[/quote']

He's actually perched in the crevice on the rock right to the left. My camera refused to get a good picture of his mantle that way, so he was posed for the camera.

and I don't think those are AOG's. Nice tubbs and I believe those green one's are alien eye's.

I'm not sure if those or another zoa that wasn't opened at the time were the armor of the gods. I'll take a picture of the other zoas today.

You got all the stuff for the jawfish at home depot?

yes. I think everything cost $7 or $8 total. I didn buy a $10 pvc saw as I didn't have anything to cut the long piece of pvc with.

Update time

I noticed a major difference in the jawfish in the blenny after adding the clowns. The jawfish is more comfortable leaving his home during dinner time, and the blenny is WAY more adventuresome. I guess the clowns are a dither that make the skittish fish feel more comfortable.

I added a photosynthetic gorgonian and another coral that I don't remember the name of. I think it began with an "L"...

Thank you COReefer! When the tank is ready, the top rock will be SPS. lol@sticking some monti cap on the jawfish house. I can see his reaction now... pokes his head up out of the house with a look of contempt in his eyes... looks at the monti cap, "what the heck is this crap?" "Oh no you didn't!"... mouth gaping he attacks it until he dislodges it... he settles back in and looks at me... "Go fetch your errant monti cap you nerd." LOL

Update:

Everything seems to be doing well. Tank params are looking great. You'll probably notice I'm no longer rimless :-(. It was a good trade off to make sure the fish stayed in and the evaporation stayed down. Some notes on feeding:

The jawfish is relentless with the baster. He owns the baster until he's full. He's really picky with pieces that float by him. If it's something that he doesn't want... he blows it away from him with a puff... comical to watch.

The Clownfish do not like frozen food. They show interest and then they don't even try eating it. They go nuts for hikari micro pellets though.

The Tailspot is the best eater. He's such a good house keeper. He will not poop in his roost. He will always swim away, poop, and then return.

I'd noticed the Jawfish was collecting rubble. I thought i'd help him out by moving all of it in front of his house last night. He hasn't touched any of it since I moved it.

I'm having a hard time finding new, interesting softies and LPS corals. I really want to find 3 more interesting zoas, 2 more multi colored ricordeas, and maybe some really eye catching acans, and maybe a plate. I really want this tank to be a mixture of nice colors and textures. The search continues!

Great looking update!

I love the rockwork! It is really looking nice as you stock the tank up. The tailspot blenny is awesome and the naked clowns are very nice!

p.s. If you ever want to come down this way and check out my system, I have some nice corals that you might like. Some sweet zoas, lps, sps, etc.

New Update:

pardon my pictures this go around... my skimmer is spitting out mad bubbles at the moment. The tank looks a little cloudy, but it's all micro bubbles. Added 2 new acans and a sour apple bird's nest. As you can see, I've integrated the jawfish house into the scape. I built up LR around it and filled sand inbetween the barnacle and the LR. The jawfish has been moving rubble all day long.

Of major note... I've decided to remove the Jawfish house. It just wasn't working with my already too centralized scape. Mr. Man has dug two other holes that he doesn't spend any time in, but they are there. They are both at the front of the tank. I'm hoping he decides to adopt one. If he starts stressing, I'll add his house back.

On a sad note, I broke off a piece of my birdsnest while being clumsy. I epoxied it back to the rock... but it doesn't look as good as it did originally. I also was able to find my lost acan after removing the jawfish house and scooping sand from the back of the tank to the front. Only two shriveled up heads remain. I glued it in place. If it makes a come back, I'll be a happy camper... It's green on the outside with a red mouth. Completely opposite of my blasto.

On a happy note, I've added an ORA Red Planet. SPS stocking has begun!

Pics tomorrow (techinally later today)

on a continuation of notes... My decision to remove the jawfish house was met with heavy resistance today. Mr. Man is skulking at the very BACK of the tank and refuses to come out... even for food. I had to work even harder to incorporate the house back into the tank. I'm hoping he finds it tonight or tomorrow/tomorrow night sometime.

Pics are delayed due to the water being slightly cloudy from reburying the jawfish house.

Pictures as promised

So... the SPS stocking has begun! As you can see, I am NOT doing frag plugs. I know they are great for moving corals around until you can find the perfect spot, flow, and light for them... but I just can't do it. I want my tank to be aesthetic from the get go and get more so as everything grows in. Using epoxy is almost like creating your own frag plug as it only only takes a little bit of force to remove break the bond. I forgot to note that I've caught and removed 2 of my peppermints and I've added 1 Cleaner shrimp. I keep forgetting to take a picture of him. He likes to be a little poophead and work the back of the rocks until I put my hand in the tank. Then he runs over to clean my hands... He's out at night a lot as well.

The "We don't need no stinkin' sun edition":

I've added a few SPS if you haven't noticed :D. I'm already debating removing the Leptastrea, the open brain, and 4 of the SPS. I need to frag the large pink acan. I only want a piece of it. I also found some rainbow monti. Finally! I've added a new dendro and a non photosynthetic gorg. I just ran out of my first bag of IO/RC. I'm probably going to switch to seachem.
