COReefer
I love the look of the radium bulbs. If it were me that's the direction that I would go.
twogirls
I was kind of leaning that way. Thy don't look too blue? Growth was ok?
CCR
Either the 15K XM or radium. Sunlight is 65K, very yellow as our SUN is. The higher you go in Kelvin, will have some effect on grouth rate. I personally don't care for the Phoenix bulbs after we ran an unscientific test at PFO. The 400wt 15kXM had a far superior light than the phoenix 14k and was brighter and clearer. They will start off a little blue but will settle in a week or so. Ask Jay about them if you like. This was tried on the same ballast also a PFO (of course it was as we did the test there) They where even surprised at the difference. COReefer
I don't think the radiums are too blue at all. I really like the color but then again, it's personal preference.
downhill_biker
you would be suprised, the phoenix 14k is very blue, like a 20k. the PAR is much higher though. i know for 250w bulbs the phoenix has PAR that rivals the top 10k bulbs, and blows the 20k bulbs out of the water. now...am i wrong in saying that phoenix only makes DE bulbs and radiums are only SE? as far as i know that was how it went. my opinion would be the phoenix 14k, the PAR is just unmatched. if you want to see pics of my tank under phoenix 14k you can click on the link in my signature. Lowman
Radium is making a DE 150 watt bulb now and that is what I would get.
