  1. Looking to buy a 90-125g tank. The closer to Vancouver, WA the better. Let me know what you got.
  2. Located in Vancouver, WA. Got lots of goodies, mostly softies. Have a few small colonies of Acans, Some Galaxia, Lots of heads of Duncan, Lots of zoas, some pretty awesome ones, lots of pom pom xenia and green star polyps, A small frag of a pagoda coral, and some others Prices (May vary) Come make me an offer Acans $10-75 (Depends on the colony) Duncan $10 per head The Pagoda coral frag is $20? Galaxia - $20 per frag Pom Pom Xenia (Very Active waving motion) - $10 per frag Green Star Polyps - $5-15 per frag (Depending on the piece) Zoas $1-$10 per polyp
  3. Thats pretty cool. I just found a baby xenia on one of my main rocks :/
  4. Following. After accidently thawing all my food, I'm looking to switch it up. My fish all have excellent colors...for now. Trying to keep it that way. Currently Feeding Pellets (floating & sinking) soaked in garlic. I feed frozen PE mysis and brine when I dont leave them on the counter. I'm looking into adding more supplements for overall health as well. I like the look of Rod's blends but I have yet to try it.
  5. Thats pretty funny! My question is, was this intentionally done or did it make its way onto the shell somehow?
  6. Totally feel you there. If you go T5/MH make sure she doesnt see the electricity bill My electricity bill just doubled due to my new tank. Oops.
  7. Welcome. Always happy to see people from the same town. A couvie huh, Blue Z Reef? I kinda like that. My preferred lighting is T5 with LED. I like LED only as well, because the flexibility and things you can do with them are exceptional.
  8. I bought the wrong light. Selling a lightly used A150W Sky Blue by Kessil. Or if you have an ocean blue or one of the blue-er spectrum lights and want to trade, that works too. No gooseneck or hanging kit included, but with the 2 hangers its very easy to diy a cable or chain to hang them. $175?
  9. I'm very against getting the type of nudibranchs that eat unknown sponge or have an unknown diet. I'm not trying to build a slug graveyard. I would only choose the types with known diets that I could feed reasonably. Such as the ones I just listed. There are many very cool looking nudibranchs that trump the looks of everything on my list, but their diets are unknown and they cannot be sustainably kept I almost wish I had a flatworm problem so I could get a blue velvet nudibranch. Is that bad?
  10. Hahaha I wouldnt complain about that. But I really dont think they eat them all that fast. I have many zoanthids and I've found a few nudis before but they havent really made a mark that I noticed. I've done a little more reasearch. I think I could collect some zoanthids from my frag tank, for maybe like 2 zoa eating nudis. Find a nice chunk of aptasia and start raising it in epic proportions on the other side of the tank for a berghia? Fabricate a turf algae scrubber and throw the mesh material in for a lettuce nudibranch/blue dot sea hare. Rotate the material. When they eat it all, grab whats growing in the prop tank and rotate them. Found out about a really cool nudibranch that mimics and eats xenia. The pom pom type I believe. I got a ton of that. Looks like a giant bush taking over the corner of my 10g It would mostly be a bare tank. So maybe do a reverse lighting type thing where its daylights during the night, and atinics during the day to trick them to come out during peak viewing times. I have multiple tanks I could use to cultivate the xenia/aptasia so they dont clear it all, if they end up eating it faster than expected. I really think this could be a really interesting experiment, so far I havent heard any really convincing arguements not to, but I'm still listening if someone thinks of something.
  11. This is a very good point. If anything it would be a barebottom 10g with a small frag rack (2" x 2") of zoanthids, but you're probably right, they wouldnt stray far from the frags would they? I'd be worried about stability in a 3g, although it would probably perfect for viewing them.
  12. Looks like a nice doser and a very nice tank. I would agree on the tube holders, that is pretty smart.
  13. Im talking about a zoanthid eating nudi only tank. I wouldnt put zoanthids I care about. Just like the yellow/green ones you find everywhere for cheap. I have a pretty good colony of them I'd be willing to part with for the beauty of them. And know where to find plenty more. I just love them, I hate removing them, I feel like they should be kept, just seperated from anything I dont want them eating. And theoretically speaking, if I wanted to change their colors, as far as I know I could feed them a different colored zoanthid for a specific period of time. It could be a cool experiment. I got a few extra tanks and the equipment for them ready to go. And I'm sure I could find a couple free nudis from people who are actively battling them (maybe)
  14. Jason at OIAB near me sells pretty sizable colonies of zoanthid encrusted rocks for $60-$80. I guess I dont really know how much they eat, but I wouldnt think they could consume a colony of 100-200 polyps all that quickly. Also I could see why raising berghia nudis could be challenging but finding zoanthids in my case is a lot easier than finding aptaisia. But I'm no expert on the matter.
  15. Im guessing no one in here has kept a tank with zoanthid-eating nudibranchs here but its worth a shot. Heard of anyone doing this? I'm looking for creative ways to use my QT when I'm done stocking my tank. I found a zoa nudi the other night and it got me thinking...could one reasonably keep nudibranchs in captivity? I mean they wouldnt be hard to feed, stick a couple of frag in there until they eat them and boom. As long as you keep parameters stable, run carbon, gfo and a skimmer, then what would could go wrong, right?
  16. Nice. Ya I waited months for this overflow. Preordered it like 2 months before they actually were scheduled to ship. But well worth the wait! Love this osmolator and this skimmer I got too. All i need now is an apex and I'll have everything I need for my future tank!
  17. Why cant I edit my posts anymore? ugh so frustrating....why limit when someone can edit a post, that makes no sense on a forum like this.
  18. These are most of the polyps from you spectra. All doin awesome! Those pinks and those purples are so awesome! Skimz SK201 Tunze Osmolator 3155 It has very much become my snail and quarantine tank while the firefish is in his own quarantine in the bedroom. Standby Spectra my camera cord doesn't seem to work and that has all my plumbing pics in it. Gotta xfer them to the SD card.
  19. Yeah I've been doing my research on the sixline. I really want one. Theres an unbeliveably cute very very small one i want to "rescue" from a local petco. But after doing my reasearch and judging by some of the fish i intend to keep in here, I dont think hes going to be a good choice. Maybe one day I'll get him a tank of his own. I think I'll just get some super cool clownfish and call it good. Ya spectra, and its amazing even for little flow. Reduced the main siphon drain to 1" since I'm only pushing like 400ish gph through it. Its uber silent with the bean animal set up and I couldnt ask for anything better. And it will fit on a huge tank when I move out of my apartment! Your coral look amazing in here. I need to post some pictures soon
  20. Basically looking for a color-controllable led retrofit sort of lights to suppliment my t5 fixture. I really like a lot of the regular LED lights but I fear they will get in the way of my hanging t5 lights. The lights are longer than the tank too so mounting a regular kessil or ai would be obtrusive I thought I remember someone selling some, but I dont remember the name of them. Anybody have anything like this in mind?
