Question for SPS growers

In your reef experience. Would high tank temps lead to SPS discoloration. I discovered my apex temp prob is no calibrated correctly and in fact nearly 2 degrees off. I felt my water was warm and also noted extra algae growth so got me thinking.   I have noticed some sps turning pale and they have stopped uptaking alk/calc at normal rates they were normally doing over the past two weeks. I thought it was a nutrient deficiency but for the amount of algae I get, I’m pretty sure that is not the issue.  Any thoughts??

I've been the end of both cold temperatures during power outages (62° F) to higher temperatures pushing (90° F). Of course the sweet spot is 72-76° F, but I wouldn't worry about a couple degrees different on the short-term.

Would I turn it down? Yes.

Higher temps will always grow algae and more advantangeous critters.
