reefgeek84
Does anyone know somewhere local that carries dowflake? I am starting to look into doing the DIY calcium and alk at home mix, and I am trying to locate all the things I will need to do it local. If anyone can help that would be great. impur
I had looked into getting Dowflake or Peladow from my parents, they own an ACE hardware, at wholesale prices. But it comes in 90lbs bags and you gotta buy like full pallets. Thats more than we could get rid of i think.

impur
Yah, thats what i use. You can bake the baking soda on a cookie sheet to get washing soda if the baking soda drops your pH too much.
Reefin'
why not just buy washing soda?
impur
Baking soda is approved for human consumption. Washing soda is not. Just best not to risk using the washing soda IMO, never know what might have been mixed in.
