I would be interested in 20 lbs of large rock, and the $10 bag of rubble if you are in the portland area. dsoz

bluecheese
A nickname for Portland. Learn something everyday. Where did that originate from?
dsoz
Learn something everyday. Where did that originate from? In the early days of Portland, they were cutting down trees so fast, and the town was growing so fast that most of the stumps were left in the streets. Also the streets were mainly mud because of all the rain. So people would jump from one stump to another so that they would be less muddy. dsoz
bluecheese
Thanks Dennis. Interesting here is the wikipedia version of it. I guess "bridgetown" and of course Rose City are also accepted.

Local residents quickly found they could jump from stump to stump and stay above the muddy, unpaved streets -- hence the name "Stumptown." They went so far as to whitewash the stumps to make them more visible."
